Electromagnetic Frequency and the iMRS
The following discussion presents what frequency is, and where electromagnetic waves fit within the spectrum of electromagnetism in the universe. However, before we get into that discussion (free free to skip over it if you so choose) let's get right to the point. Just as your cells can be signaled to perform new and different functions by stimulation with chemicals (e.g., nutrients or drugs) they can also be signaled energetically, with electromagnetic waves. In fact, some very desirable cellular functions are stimulated more robustly by energy than by chemistry. And that's the whole point of the iMRS. It delivers frequencies to all 75 trillion cells of the body at the same time, at the speed of light, at the frequency of health.
The healthy range of electromagnetic frequencies frequencies are known. These ranges of frequencies are called "biological windows." As long as the frequency being delivered falls within this window it will confer benefit to the cell in terms of intake of nutrients, elimination of waste products of metabolism, and overall function. And that's precisely what the iMRS does; it delivers frequencies within the biological windows of health!
An analogy would be acoustic frequencies. Some sounds are too loud to enjoy. Some are too soft to be heard. There is a "window" of volume within which hearing is a pleasant, or even healthful, experience. And so it is with electromagnetism. There are pleasant, healthful electromagnetic frequencies; others that are too soft to be assimilated or perceived by the body, and others that are so "loud" that the cells are negatively impacted by such signals. We call these noxious or harmful signals "electrosmog."
The iMRS whole body mat applicator uses 3 pairs of copper coils of varying diameter to simulate the electromagnetic frequencies and intensities of the earth's magnetic field. We know from nature that such frequencies are in perfect harmony with health and well-being. Daily use of the iMRS mat applicator can eliminate stress and tension while encouraging greater oxygen supply anbd enhancing how your body works at the cellular level. f this discussion brief preface has sufficed for you, you're done. If you are more technically minded, feel free to read on! We are pleased to present what follows.
Nitty Gritty Science Background on Frequencies...
The rate of change in a wave is its “frequency.” Waves undulate from peak to valley to peak. The time from one peak to the next peak is a cycle. One cycle encompasses one positive (above-the-line) peak and one negative peak. The most basic unit of frequency is one cycle per second. One cycle per second (cps) is also referred to as one “hertz,” in honor of 19th century German physicist Heinrich Hertz, whose discovery of electromagnetic waves led to the development of radio. A frequency of 25 Hertz (Hz) means 25 cycles per second.
1 cps = 1 Hz
The frequency rate is measured from one peak to the next peak.
Sine waves are a mode by which energy is transferred across a medium (such as the body), the more cycles per second, the more energy transfer per second. We are familiar with light energy and understand waves of light, or photons. The visible light spectrum is a very small slice of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Similarly, audible sound is a small slice of the sound frequency (acoustic) spectrum, and the human ear can only detect and respond to a portion of the frequencies that lie within this spectrum.
With reference to applications of bioelectromagnetic signals, the higher the frequency, the more energy is delivered to the body. But understanding Adey's principle of the "biological window" (see previous section) we know that just like light and sound, the human body is only capable of responding beneficially and healthfully to a small slice of the electromagnetic frequency spectrum.
Makers of other pulsating electromagnetic field systems boast that higher power and intensity is more desirable. The makers of the iMRS understand that energy medicine doesn't work like this. Frequencies that are natural and fall within the biological window are the most effective at supporting vibrant health and wellness. In essence, "less is more." That's because nature tells us the best frequencies for the health, wellness and longevity of the human body are extremely low frequencies -- those of the earth itself.
In pulsed magnetic field therapy, one refers to cycles as pulsations. Thus, cycles per second are understood to mean pulsations per second. Thus, a 25 Hz electromagnetic frequency is a pulsed magnetic wave that is comprised of 25 electromagnetic pulsations per second.
The human body has many natural frequencies. Among them are the heartbeat, the cerebrospinal fluid flow, the respiratory rhythm, and the electromagnetic rhythms of the brain. John Zimmerman, PhD at the University of Colorado documented that the hand of a therapeutic touch practitioner emits an electromagnetic frequency averaging between 7-8 Hz when the practitioner is actively engaged in employing healing touch. The Schumann resonances produced in the earth's atmosphere are 7.83 Hz. The alpha waves of the brain appear to be very similar, if not virtually identical to these Schumann frequencies.
More on Schumann Frequencies
In 1954 Schumann and König reported on their discovery of naturally occurring electromagnetic pulsations on the Earth. Schumann resonances are natural waves excited by lightning strikes in the cavity between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere. In essence, lightning pumps energy into the earth-atmospher cavity, and causes it to vibrate or resonate at extremely low frequencies. The electromagnetic waves created by lightning travel around the Earth at the speed of light, reflecting from the ionosphere to earth and back again in cyclical fashion. These waves circumnavigate the globe an average of 7.83 times per second. As noted above, this frequency correlates with the average frequency of alpha brain waves in human beings.
There is an enormous range of electromagnetic frequencies either already in use or suggested for use in health care. Most of these frequencies deliver signal shapes of the simple sine wave variety. The frequencies in use range from the extremely low frequency (ELF) range of 3 to 300 Hz to the upper end as high as 50 billion Hz (50 GHz). For wellness and safety for the use of devices at home, it is recommended to stay with a device that delivers electromagnetic pulsations in the ELF range.
The basic frequency (and highest intensity) mode of Schumann resonance, or the “tonic frequency,” is 7.83 Hz. An overtone is a natural resonance or vibration frequency of a system. Those who sing or play guitar are familiar with the creation of overtones – frequencies of sound that are often created by superimposing one fundamental frequency upon another. Further resonance modes occur at 6.5 Hz intervals due to the Earth’s spherical geometry. These resonance modes (overtones) are detected in the background radio noise of the Earth’s energetic field as separate peaks around 14.3, 20.8, 27.3 and 33.8 Hz. Furthermore, these overtones seem to be essential for our bodies.
If our bodies are blocked from natural exposure to these natural waves (e.g., due to living and working in buildings constructed with concrete, steel and metal alloys, driving in cars on paved roads, and by the electro-pollution of ultra-high frequency radiations from cell phones, microwave ovens, wireless phone and computer networks, and radar/satellite signals, etc.) we are more susceptible to illness, loss of cell membrane integrity, compromised immunity, and depression. Recorded dips in the Earth’s Schumann resonances have had strong correlation to heart attacks, car accidents, and in a general increase in the death rate. (Beck 1992)
Circadian Biorhythms, the Chinese Organ Clock and Frequency Variance of the iMRS
The iMRS's whole body mat applicator uses pre-programmed frequencies that vary based on the time of day the device is used. The basis for this time variance of frequency is naturally observed circadian rhythms.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (and other ancient healing traditions in Asia) vital energy flows through the twelve organs and completes one cycle every twenty-four hours. The Chine Organ Clock shows the circadian flow of the vital energy (Qi – pronounced “Chi”) through various organ systems in relation to the time of day. Each organ has maximum energy for two hours. The organ has minimum energy (or lowest flow of Qi) 12 hours later.
THE CHINESE ORGAN CLOCK
|3 TO 5AM||4AM||LUNG|
|5 TO 7AM||6AM||LARGE INTESTINE|
|7 TO 9AM||8AM||STOMACH|
|9 TO 11AM||10AM||SPLEEN|
|11 TO 1PM||12 NOON||HEART|
|1 TO 3PM||2PM||SMALL INTESTINE|
|3 TO 5PM||4PM||URINARY BLADDER|
|5 TO 7PM||6PM||KIDNEY|
|7 TO 9PM||8PM||PERICARDIUM|
|9 TO 11PM||10PM||TRIPLE WARMER|
|11 TO 1PM||12 MIDNIGHT||GALL BLADDER|
|1 TO 3PM||2AM||LIVER|
From the above chart it can be seen that the maximum energy flow through the liver is at 2 am. Therefore, the liver’s lowest corresponding energy flow is at 2 pm. The iMRSdelivers packets of energy that are believed to balance cellular resonance for all the organs and body systems simultaneously by varying frequencies through 4 pre-programmed intervals: 5 am to 10 am, 10 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 8 pm, and 8 pm to 5 am.
The frequency bands delivered by the whole body mat applicator of the iMRS utilize the unique sawtooth signal shape and are composites of a large number of electromagnetic frequencies in the extremely low frequency (ELF) range. Magnetic resonance stimulation of every cell within the field is continued for 8, 16 or 24 minutes, depending on the application time setting used. Every 2 minutes during this signaling the polarity is reversed to prevent cellular fatigue or accommodation to the signal. The intention of this is to maximize cellular energy and wellness benefit.
Working the night shift
A common question for the use of the circadian rhythm programs of the iMRS with the whole body mat applicator is whether the time settings should be changed for those working a night shift. Even if the sleep cycle is changed by working a night shift the body will still respond best to the program corresponding to the actual time of day. Therefore a night worker should select the appropriate program based on real time of day using the iMRS as anyone else would. There should be no compensation in the use of these programs for changes in diurnal rhythm.
Local Pad and Probe Applicators of the iMRS do not use circadian rhythm programming
The local Pad and Probe applicators are capable of higher field intensities and are versatile in how they are applied externally to the body. There is no need for a Chinese Organ Clock for these applicators. A square waveform is used. Once the Pad or Probe applicator is selected, programs that deliver pulsating electromagnetic waves through the whole body mat switch off automatically.
